ARTICLE IX: Waupun High School Chapter By-Laws
Section 1. A chapter may wish to include bylaws to amplify sections of its constitution. Bylaws do not need to be approved by the national Council if they are consistent with regulations outlined in the constitution. A current copy of the local chapter bylaws must be filed with the national headquarters of NAEA. At each meeting taking place during win, a variety of snacks and drinks will be provided.
Section 2. To remain a member in good standing when an art class is not elected or when it is, a member must pay $10 dues; complete approximately 10+ service hours in the visual arts each year. 2 fundraiser and set up days (=6 hr), 2 Art event (=2), 2 other events (4 hr)
Section 3. Annual dues of $ 10 will be collected from each member. (National and Local)
Section 4. Attendance is required for monthly morning meetings and afternoon social activities to maintain membership and privileges. Failure to attend 75% majority of meetings will cause a loss in good standing of membership.
Section 5. All Members will have the choice to participate in a number of fundraisers, service projects, and activities to obtain the 10 hours of service. All members will attend the Induction Ceremony and Art Exhibition in the Spring.
Section 6. For the NAHS officers, attendance is also required at any executive meetings called outside of the regularly scheduled meetings. Failure to attend the majority of meetings will cause a loss in good standing of membership and possible revocation of the elected office as determined by a quorum vote of the NAHS council.
Section 7. To graduate with NAHS honors and earn the right to wear a colorful tassel at graduation, a member must remain in good standing until your graduation date.
Section 8. Members must take or have taken 1 HS Fine Art courses (and/ or Digital Media) Members must receive an B or higher in any Fine Art class.
Section 9. Members must have and maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. Members may be placed on academic probation each semester in the event they fall below 3.0
Section 10. Members will remain active artists. Members must produce current and quality work during such time, when there are no Fine Arts courses in their schedules as long as they fulfill all of the other requirements each year.
Section 11. In the event of an infraction of rules, a review by the officers and sponsor will be conducted. If the individual in question is an officer, h/she will now take part in the decision-making process. This applies to all community laws as well as school and chapter rules.
Article IX: The National Council Section 1. The National Council shall be the Executive Director of the NAEA, the Secondary Division Director, the Secondary Division Director-elect, and a member at large appointed by the Executive Director from the general secondary division membership of NAEA.
Section 2. The National Director of the National Art Honor Society program shall be selected by members of the national Council from the Council membership.
Section 3. Terms of office for members of the National Council shall be two-year terms. The NAEA Executive Director shall have a continuous term on the National Council as an ex-officio member
